CSI Central Iowa Chapter – April Meeting

Ulrike Passe, BEC-Iowa board member, will present on the Potential of Vacuum Insulation Panels to Impact Energy Savings, at the CSI Central Iowa Chapter on April 24th.  This research project addresses current vacuum insulation limitations and utilizes whole building energy analysis, optimization, and the development of construction techniques as a means for providing best practices for the implementation of low-cost VIPs.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Introduction to the vacuum insulation panels (VIP) and how they work.
  2.  Examination of the limitations and possibilities for uses of VIP including possible construction techniques to maximize performance.
  3. Review of potential for energy saving using energy models to forecast performance
  4. Consideration of factors that can affect the effectiveness of the VIP in practice.
